Titans vs Jaguars NFL Network Score Prediction

The Titans-Jaguars Thursday Night Football game might not seem like much of a game with playoff ramifications, considering the two teams have a combined record of 5-13. But when you consider Tennessee is just 2 games out of first place in the AFC South and Jacksonville is 1 game out, this TNF contest will play a key role in the divisional race.

The NFL Network will broadcast the Titans-Jaguars TNF contest at 8:25 p.m. Eastern from Jacksonville.

The Jaguars will bring some momentum into the TNF contest, as they have overcome a 1-5 start to post wins in two of their past three games. The Jaguars scored a touchdown in the last few minutes to defeat Buffalo, 34-31, in London in Week 8, and they kicked a 53-yard field goal on an extra play when Baltimore was called for a penalty as time expired, giving Jacksonville a 22-20 win.

Tennessee has had no luck in gaining momentum during the season. After an impressive 42-14 win at Tampa Bay in Week 1, the Titans lost six in a row before winning at New Orleans in overtime, 34-28, in Week 9. Last Sunday, undefeated Carolina won in Nashville, 27-10.

Tennessee's offense has struggled under rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota and second-year quarterback Zach Mettenberger. The Titans have scored 14 or fewer points in six of their nine games.

With four of their final seven games against fellow AFC South Division opponents, both Jacksonville and Tennessee will have a chance to make up some ground on divisional leader Indianapolis coming down the stretch. Jacksonville, which lost 16-13 in overtime at Indianapolis in Week 4, will play the Colts again at home in Week 14. The Titans also lost a tight game to the Colts earlier this season, 35-33 in Week 3. Tennessee will travel to Indianapolis in Week 17 for the rematch.

Thursday's Titans-Jaguars game will be the first of two meetings between the teams in a span of 17 days. The Titans and Jaguars will play again in Nashville in Week 13.

Tennessee leads the all-time Titans-Jaguars series, 23-18, as these divisional rivals play twice every season. The Titans and Jaguars have been very evenly matched in the past several years. Neither team has won more than two in a row since 2006, and they've split their last 12 games. They also split last year's games, with Tennessee winning at home, 16-14, and Jacksonville winning at home, 21-13.
