An optimist might say Seattle could be 7-0 on the NFL season, but a realist says the two-time defending NFC champions are a surprising 3-4. Seattle is showing signs that it may be rounding into form as the midpoint of the NFL season approaches in Sundays Seahawks-Cowboys game.

FOX will televise the Seahawks and Cowboys from AT&T Stadium at 4:25 p.m. Eastern Sunday in Week 8.

Seattle is coming off a dominating Thursday Night Football performance, where it crushed San Francisco on the road, 20-3. Had Seattle done a better job of finishing games earlier in the season, it certainly would be closer to 7-0 than 3-4 entering the Seahawks-Cowboys game. Seattle has held leads in the fourth quarter in every game it has played this season, but it has lost four times, including twice in overtime and once when giving up a game-winning touchdown in the closing seconds.

And if youre seeking more evidence that Seattle may be ready to go on a run entering the Seahawks-Cowboys game, consider that three of Seattles four losses have come against teams that were undefeated through Week 6 in Green Bay, Cincinnati, and Carolina. And consider that the Seahawks have been without star running back Marshawn Lynch for four games this season because of injury. He topped the 100-yard rushing mark for the first time this season in the Week 7 win against San Francisco.

Meanwhile, facing the tough Seattle defense in the Seahawks-Cowboys game might be one of the worst matchups for the struggling Dallas offense, which has been without quarterback Tony Romo and receiver Dez Bryant for much of the season. Bryant could play in the Seahawks-Cowboys game, but Romo must remain on injured reserve until at least Week 11, although its unclear exactly when hell be healed enough from his broken collarbone to begin playing again.

Dallas lost all three starts for backup quarterback Brandon Weeden, including a 30-6 blowout loss at home against New England in Week 5. After a bye, the Cowboys started Matt Cassel at the Giants in Week 7. He had three interceptions against one touchdown though, so its unclear who will start at quarterback in the Seahawks-Cowboys game. Dallas leaned on its running game against the Giants, rushing 41 times for 233 yards in the 27-20 loss at New York.

Dallas leads the all-time Seahawks-Cowboys series, 10-6. Dallas has won four of the past five games against Seattle, including last seasons 30-23 Cowboys victory, one of only four Seattle losses during the 2014 regular season. Its also worth noting Seattle started 3-3 last season before winning nine of its final 10 games.
