Patriots vs Colts Sunday Night Football NFL Week 6 Pick & Score Prediction

In recent years, when the Patriots and Colts play, its generally an important game. And after rebounding from a 0-2 start, Indianapolis has won three in a row to make Sunday Night Football Patriots-Colts game a key contest in the race for best record in the AFC.

NBC will nationally televise the Patriots-Colts at 8:30 p.m. Eastern from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. New England leads the all-time Patriots-Colts series, 50-29, including five playoff matchups. New England has played the Colts more often in the playoffs than any other franchise.

The Patriots and Colts have met in the playoffs each of the past two seasons, with New England picking up wins at home in both games, 43-22 in the 2013 season playoffs and 45-7 last season. New England also won the last Patriots-Colts game in Indianapolis during the 2014 regular season, 42-20.

In fact Indianapolis hasnt won a Patriots-Colts game since Peyton Manning was the Indianapolis quarterback, winning 35-34 in 2009. Since Andrew Luck became the starting Indianapolis quarterback, New England has won all four games in the Patriots-Colts series, and the Patriots have outscored Indianapolis 189-73 in those four games, two of which were the previously mentioned playoff games.

Luck might not get a chance to break his losing streak against New England, as he might not play in the upcoming SNF Patriots-Colts game. Luck has missed the past two Colts games, a 16-13 overtime win against Jacksonville and a 27-20 win at Houston, with a shoulder injury. Matt Hasselbeck has won his two starts at quarterback, but early reports say that Luck has a good chance of returning for the Patriots-Colts game.

No matter who starts at quarterback, off-season Indianapolis acquisition Frank Gore should be a big help in the Patriots-Colts game. Gore is starting to have some of the success he experienced in San Francisco, having rushed for at least 85 yards in two of the three Colts wins.

Even with the improvements Indianapolis has made the past few weeks, itll have its hands full in the Patriots-Colts game. New England has looked like the NFLs best team in a 4-0 start. New Englands past two performances have been especially strong, defeating Jacksonville and Dallas by a combined 81-23. The off-season hand-wringing over the Tom Brady suspension seems like it was years ago, as Brady was reinstated just before the start to the regular season, and the four games during which he was supposed to be suspended have all been New England victories. Had the suspension stood, his first game back wouldve been the SNF Patriots-Colts game.
