Colts vs Texans NFL Network Week 5 prediction

The Colts and Texans will enter their Thursday Night Football game in Week 5 with more questions than answers. CBS and the NFL Network will co-broadcast the TNF Colts-Texans game from Reliant Stadium in Houston at 8:25 p.m. Eastern

Houston will limp into the Colts-Texans game at 1-3. The Texans were humiliated in Week 4, falling last Sunday in Atlanta, 48-21. Houstons only win this season was a home win in Week 3 against equally struggling Tampa Bay, 19-9. Houston will bring one of the NFLs worst offenses into the Colts-Texans game, having scored only 77 points through four games. Star Houston running back Arian Foster made his season debut against Atlanta, so his return may help jump start the offense for the Texans going forward.

Indianapolis will have some question marks entering the Colts-Texans contest too, especially considering its a short week of preparation for the Thursday Night Football game. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck missed the Week 4 Indianapolis game against Jacksonville because of injury, and Lucks status for the Colts-Texans TNF game is questionable. If Luck cannot play Thursday in Houston, Matt Hasselbeck is the likely starter at quarterback for Indianapolis.

Hasselbeck wasnt perfect in his first start of the season, finishing with a QB rating of 63.7, but he did enough to allow Indianapolis hold off Jacksonville, 16-13 in overtime. Indianapolis will enter the Colts-Texans game with a 2-2 record. Running back Frank Gore hasnt provided quite as big of a lift as Indianapolis was hoping for when they signed him as a free agent from San Francisco in the off-season, gaining 227 yards on the ground and 46 yards receiving through four games with two total touchdowns, and the Colts will need more from him if Luck cannot play Thursday.

Indianapolis has dominated Houston over the past decade-plus, recording one of the most lopsided all-time series records in NFL history. Indianapolis leads the Colts-Texans series, 22-4, as these two AFC South Division rivals havent had much of a rivalry. Indianapolis has won five in a row in the Colts-Texans series. Houston last won at home against the Colts in 2012, 29-17.

Indianapolis won its last trip to Houston last season, 33-28. Indianapolis raced to a 24-0 lead in last seasons Colts-Texans game in Houston, then held off a late Texans rally. Luck threw for 370 yards and three scores in that game for the Colts. Foster rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns, while J.J. Watt returned a fumble for a score in the fourth quarter for Houston.
