Colts vs Saints NFL Week 7 Pick

Both the Saints and Colts have rebounded after tough starts to the season, but with both teams facing difficult games in the next few weeks, winning their Week 7 contest is important.

FOX will regionally televise Sundays Saints-Colts game from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis at 1 p.m. Eastern.

After a rough start to the season when it lost three straight games, all while scoring no more than 22 points in any game, New Orleans will enter the Saints-Colts contest having won two of three games, including handing Atlanta its first loss of the season on Thursday Night Football in Week 6, 31-21.

After missing the Week 3 loss at Carolina with an injury, New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees has thrown for 300 yards in each of the past three games, and he has four 300-yard games this season. Brees will need only 39 yards in the Saints-Colts game to reach 58,000 yards in his career.

Indianapolis opened 0-2 and then had to play with its backup quarterback in Weeks 4 and 5, but the Colts won both of their games where Andrew Luck was unable to start. Matt Hasselbeck led the Colts to wins against Jacksonville, 16-13 in overtime, and at Houston, 27-20, while Luck was sidelined. In Lucks return, Indianapolis lost 34-27 against undefeated New England last Sunday.

Both the Saints and Colts have played a tough schedule. In addition to the five-point loss to undefeated Carolina and the win against previously undefeated Atlanta, New Orleans has a 31-19 loss at NFC West leading Arizona. New Orleans, which is 0-3 on the road this season, will face the NFC East leading New York Giants in Week 8, and theyll face Carolina in a rematch in Week 13.

Indianapolis sits atop the AFC South standings, despite only a 3-3 record. The Saints-Colts game will be the first game for Indianapolis against an NFC team this season. The Colts are 3-0 against their fellow AFC South teams, but their other three games have come against AFC East teams, and theyre 0-3 in those contests. Indianapolis will face the NFC South leader, undefeated Carolina, in Week 8. And the Colts will face another undefeated team in Week 9 in Denver.

The Saints-Colts game will be a rematch of Super Bowl XLIV, in which New Orleans won its only Super Bowl in franchise history, 31-17. All-time, the Saints lead the series, 7-5, including a 62-7 home win in the last meeting in 2011. New Orleans hasnt won in Indianapolis since 1998.
