NO Saints - After picking off only 10 passes and allowing 54 completions of 20 plus yards in '07, the emphasis was on improving the defense. The Saints signed defensive end Bobby McCray in free agency, they traded up to #7 overall to draft USC's Sedrick Ellis. Carolina Panthers -  All signs point to another run happy season with the two back system. After loading up on guards Milford Brown, Toniu Fonoti and Keydrick Vincent in free agency, they picked Oregon RB John Stewart with the 13th draft pick is predicted to provide the power in the backfield with DeAngelo Williams providing the speed. TB Buccaneers -  Defense always comes 1st in Tampa, so it was no surprise that the Bucs ignored the need for offense in the NFL draft. The Bucs did add veteran RB Warrick Dunn in free agency, but he is 33 years old and probably not much left in the tank. At WR Joey Gallaway is close to retirement and Michael Clayton has been a disappointment. Head coach Gruden is going to a 2 QB backfield and it looks like Tampa will once again rely on its defense to win.
